So someone commented on my last post saying that making drunk cooking experiments is awesome and hilarious. Sure I’ve done it before, but I wanted to do it right this time. The goal here was to drink while cooking and make something that could pass for a magical dinner with the family. So here ya go, meatball subs a la drunk!

Step 1: Chop everything!
This is a smart thing to do early on, especially if your drink of choice is whiskey. After you chop everything up, separate them. Take all the spices for the sauce and set them aside. Do the same with the tomatoes and onion. Toss the meat in a bowl and add all the stuff (minus the buns) in the ingredients section above.

Step 2: Mash the Mighty Meat
See all that stuff in the red bowl? Mix them with your hands until you get an even consistency. Then make a bunch of little balls and set them aside.

Step 3: The Sauce is Boss
Toss the chopped onion into a sauce pan and cook it for a few minutes. Next, add the tomatoes and seasoning. Stir occasionally and let it condense for about 10 min.

Step 4: Meat Time!
At this point you should be feeling the buzz. Power through! Toss the meatballs in a pan on medium with a little olive oil. You’ll have to flip them a bit, but be careful not to break them. Once they are well done, throw in the sauce. You might notice how little sauce you actually made and want to bring some store bought sauce to the mix. Yeah, minor failure. Double drinks!

Step 5: Assemble!
Broil the buns a bit (or don’t) and assemble. Congratulations, you deserve a drink!
