Taco Pizza

Prep Time: 10 min
Cook Time: 20 min
Serves: At least 3
Difficulty: Not hard, but there are a few steps to this one…
Recommended Sides: Corona, salad, rice, Hellraiser, and a friend.

The Sauce-

Refried Black Beans
1/4 Cup Corn
3-4 cloves garlic
1 tsp cayanne pepper
1 tsp pepper
1 tsp paprika
2 tsp cumin
1 tsp Chili powder
1/2 cup water
A little cilantro (1/10 bunch)
Optional- taco seasoning

The Rest-
A thin cut steak
1/2 Red Onion
1/2 Red pepper or 2 mini peppers
1/8 Bunch cilantro
1 Tomato
Mexican Blend Cheese
Olive Oil
Pizza Dough
A little chopped lettuce
Taco Sauce
A little more cumin, pepper, and cayenne

Step 1: The Sauce
Take all the things under the sauce (above) and place them in a sauce pan on medium. Stir everything in and keep it warm. this step is easy, ain’t it? Keep stirring this as you continue with everything else, and feel free to add more spices as needed.

Step 2: Dough Me Up!
Grab your store bought dough (or homemade) and lay it on a flat pan that has been lightly coated with pam. Flatten it out and sprinkle a small amount of cayenne powder on it for an extra punch. Toss it in the oven at 400 for about 8 minutes. You don’t want it to brown yet, just to get baked enough to handle the sauce and toppings.

Step 3: Super Meat Mijo
Slice up that steak and place it in a pan. Add olive oil, 1 tsp chili powder, 1/2 tsp cayenne powder, and any taco seasoning (if you have it). This will not need to cook long, maybe just 4 minutes or so. The outside of the meat should be brown, but the inside should still be red. At the same time but in a different pan, heat up your chopped red onion and peppers. This also does not need to be fully cooked, just enough so that it is slightly browned but still crispy.

Step 4: Pizza Time
Take the bean sauce and lather up the dough (fresh from the oven). Make sure its even and not too thick. Next, add the onions and peppers in a thin layer. Then a healthy amount of cheese, followed by the meat. Add a little cheese on top of that, then a little bit of the taco sauce. Toss it back into the oven until the cheese melts and the crust is crunchy (around 7-10 minutes). Take the pizza out and add the chopped lettuce, cilantro, and tomato. We were slamming the corona while cooking this, so we only had 2 pieces each. It’s very hearty, and incredible delicious. Enjoy!
